Shoot For The Stars for V
/Shoot For The Stars for V Magazine
The initial purpose of this story was to study traditional Indian fashion and how local techniques and style palettes translated to modern fashion. After the few weeks leading up to the project, the diversity of India's robust culture manifested itself in what we had put together. The entire crew for this project, models, designers and all were Indian, except for myself, but was a collection of various skin colors, religions, genders, and genetic features. These differences showed in the way they looked, the way garments were made, and the way they were worn. The shoot served as an homage to what they have in common, a beautiful country rich in color and culture, but also commentary on the differences between them and the adversity they face because of them.
